THERE IS A RAINFOREST IN EUROPE
It is not the same as the Amazon rainforest though, but the Perucica forest in Bosnia and Hercegovina is the last surviving rainforest in Europe. It’s a primeval forest and it is only allowed to explore it in the company of trained rangers. It is located in the Sutjeska National Park.
Mountain Manure
Mountain climbers, like everybody else, need to answer the call of nature. The result is that the snow at the top of the French peak Mont Blanc has been getting discolored with what can best be described as mountain manure. To prevent this, local authorities installed two public toilets near the summit of the 4,800-meter-high mountain. At an altitude of 4,260 meters (14,000 feet), these toilets are the highest in Europe.
